I finally posted some items on my etsy shop, Handmade With Love.  I'm in the process of coming up with ideas on what to make and sell on there.  I would love any suggestions!

Amy's Bridal Shower Part 2!

I was trying to post some more pictures, but was having issues with how the pictures were lining up.  Instead of stressing over it, I decided to just create another post.

My friend Elysia and I put together a Wedding Wishes banner.  The paper used is a mix of Stampin' Up patterns.  And the Big Shot became our best friend.  We used the Big Shot to make the banner flags, the scalloped circles and the letters.  We then decided to embellish each flag and glitter all the letters to make them stand out.  To string it all together, I used some jute twine.  I think it just added that 1950s/shabby chic look to it!

I also made a coffee filter garland that we hung at the entrance where all the guests entered.  You can see a picture of that in the previous blog in the photo collage.  I used a mix of tissue paper, doilies and coffee filters to put it together.  I dyed white coffee filters in red food coloring to give it the pink color.

Here are some more pictures of the shower.  Enjoy!

Congratulations to my little sister, Amy, and to Brian!  Looking forward to the wedding!

Amy's Bridal Shower!

For the past two months, we have been secretly planning my little sister's bridal shower.  She is getting married in September, but we wanted to have the shower early since summers are always crazy for everyone.  And let's just say, she was totally surprised!

We went with a 1950s theme and asked guests to dress in their finest 1950s housewife attire.  I made a lot of the decorations, with some help from friends and family.  The favors were also all handmade.  Jeremy even helped out!  He made Happy Birthday Veronica signs to trick Amy.  He also made direction cards that we placed in each of the invitations.  And the shower wouldn't be complete without a 1950s soundtrack, complete with little commercial breaks, all put together by Jeremy!

Now on to pictures!

My mom and grandparents made quiche and finger sandwiches (tuna salad, ham salad and egg salad).  Brian's (Amy's fiance) mom put together some turkey and roast beef finger sandwiches as well.  We also had help with the salads and appetizers from friends and family.

And no party could be complete without cake!  Our aunt made this awesome retro mixer cake.  She spent hours on it and it came out beautiful!  The mixer part is rice crispy treats and the bowl and batter is cake and icing.  Not only did it look great, it tasted great!
